UPDATE 2:05PM: Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies responded Sunday afternoon to a collision involving a motorcycle in the area near the overpass of southbound I-580 and College Parkway.

Reported shortly before 1 p.m. Carson City dispatch advised that at least one motorcycle and a vehicle collided and that several other motorcycle riders were at the scene. Two adult riders who were in tandem were injured, according to Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Jon Pedrini.

Carson City Fire Department ordered CareFlight and Battle Born Medevac air ambulances and took the injured by ground ambulance to the Carson City Airport where the air ambulances flew the two injured patients to the trauma ward at a Reno hospital. The condition of those injured is unknown at this time.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies have blocked traffic around the incident on College Parkway and near the I-580 overpass. Motorists can expect delays. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
