Bullying remains a persistent issue in schools and communities. Teaching children to recognize, prevent and respond to unkind behavior is crucial. Local author Monica Marcinko aims to tackle this challenge by using her book “Santa Manners” as a guide. This book reminds all of us it doesn’t matter what month it is but it’s always the right time to practice kindness.

Monica is launching a national campaign and is starting right here in Carson City. Schools, libraries, parents and children are all encouraged to get involved.
By taking the “Santa Manners” pledge we look to make our community a kinder place.
Activities will include:
Creating kindness displays in schools, libraries, and homes.
Community art project and contest.
Storytime and discussions.
Individual activities and exercises.
Contest to win a visit with the author.
For more information on how to sign up, get involved or help spread the word, contact Monica Marcinko, 775.315.1020 or email elflinetosanta@gmail.com.
