Douglas County schools in the Carson Valley are closed Tuesday due to weather concerns. Schools at Lake Tahoe were anticipated to remain open.
Douglas County’s Emergency Operations Team and the Douglas County School District met Monday. Based on the current forecast of heavy rains and high winds, DCSD will follow the recommendation of the county’s emergency management team to close all DCSD Valley schools for Tuesday.

The regularly scheduled school board meeting, which was scheduled for Tuesday night, has been rescheduled to Monday, March 20, 4 p.m. at the Media Center at Douglas High School.
