Learn to Ski and Ride week at Diamond Peak
March 10 – 14 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Spring is the best time to learn to ski or snowboard! Generally warm temperatures, consistent snowpack, and a mellow vibe make March the ideal time to make your first turns or bring a friend and introduce them to snow sports. To make that even easier, Diamond Peak’s ski and ride centers will be offering 50% off the price of all first-time beginner group lesson packages, plus 50% off ski/snowboard equipment rental packages (valid for those enrolled in a first-time lesson package).
Lesson packages include a 1 hour 45 minute first-time ski/snowboard lesson, plus a beginner lift ticket. Rental packages include skis, boots, poles and a helmet or snowboard, snowboard boots and a helmet. Please bring waterproof ski outerwear, gloves and goggles/sunglasses with you for your lesson. This offer is valid for all ages, but is limited to first-time group lessons only.

Grown Up and Guppies at the Carson City Aquatic Center
Head over to the Carson City Aquatics Center every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for Grown ups and Guppies. Making the water fun for your guppy is the most important step in preparing for swim lessons. This class is designed to acquaint adult and child wild play activities and to teach very basic fundamental skills. The course is parent-driven, under the supervision of an instructor. No registration required. Class is limited to 12 adult/child pairs on a first-come first served basis. For ages 6 months to 4 years.
Storytime Wednesdays at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada
Join in for weekly storytime with an accompanying craft each Wednesday. Recommended for children ages 1 – 6. All included with museum admission.

Bedtime Bears Storytime at the Carson City Library
For kids of all ages: Join us every Wednesday night for stories, songs and crafts designed to help kids wind down at the end of the day. From 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In this class you’ll learn about problem-solving through art, as well as how to draw with instructor Kaleb Wyckoff. Whether you can sketch a stick figure or a portrait, this class is for you! All skill levels are welcome. Every class is different and designed to strive for accessibility.
Join the Carson City High School Dungeon & Dragons group every other Wednesday at 2:30PM in the Teen Zone. Learn how to play Dungeons & Dragons and participate in fun campaigns! No registration required.

Kids Yoga at Biggest Little Baby
This class at Reno’s Biggest Little Baby uses yoga sequences, songs, stories, and games to teach kids aged 5-12 life skills via the fundamentals of yoga. We will incorporate breathing and relaxation exercises and sometimes even create mindful crafts! Located at 7693 S. Mother Goose on the Loose at South Lake Tahoe Library
Join us at the South Lake Tahoe Library for our in-person Mother Goose on the Loose! Every Thursday at 10:30 AM with Miss Anel. This award winning program combines music, movement, visual literacy and language development to help children get ready to read! Fingerboarding Club at the Carson City Library
Enjoy doing tricks and having fun with miniature skateboards. A table will be set up with a skatepark for an hour of fnigerboarding. Fingerboards will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Open to patrons 14 and up. No registration required. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Family Yoga at Biggest Little Baby
This hour-ish family yoga class at Reno’s Biggest Little Baby is a supportive and nurturing space to practice yoga and mindfulness with children. We practice yoga through songs, stories, games, and breathwork in a format that is accessible for all ages and levels. Classes often incorporate seasonal or narrative themes. The intention of this class is to bring peaceful moments of connection to families through yoga and mindfulness. All classes include some form of quiet relaxation time. Join our multilingual reader Alison for a free weekly story time in the yoga studio at Biggest Little Baby. Children of all ages and their grown ups are invited to acquire language and preliteracy/literacy skills through movement, song, interaction, and stories in English, Spanish, French, and ASL. Alison has years of teaching and child development expertise and speaks multiple languages. Her love of reading and children is both apparent and contagious. New Year, New Challenge! Carson City Trails Challenge 2025 registration is officially open. With new trails, new challenges, and new prizes – you won’t want to miss out this year. This year the Challenge will take place starting March 15th through November 1. Register today using the link above, and then join us at the Trails Challenge 2025 Launch on Saturday March 15 at Long Ranch Park with a 2 p.m. kick-off followed by a 3 p.m. Park Ranger-Led Bear Walk.
Once you have completed a minimum of 5 trails from the Trails List, submit your log before November 1 to be entered into the prize raffle.
Bear Walk
The hike is considered “easy” under the IMBA Trail Rating system. Expect flat terrain for about 2 miles. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring plenty of water.

St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast at Harley Davidsons with Kids Corner, Shamrock Pancakes
Shamrock breakfast will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with pancakes, bacon, sausage and eggs, complete with a kids corner outfitted with coloring tables, temporary tattoos, balloons and more!
Children of all ages and their families are invited to explore a variety of hands-on visual art projects that engage and educate. Second and Fourth Saturday of each month 10am-noon. All ages welcome; children under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Cost: $10/person. Discount for groups of 3 or more that register together. Brews, Brats and Ballet at the BAC
Enjoy a casual atmosphere, original dance, live music, and a beer and a brat to boot! Sierra Nevada Ballet partners with the Brewery Arts Center and the Reno Little Theater to produce an exciting program that has become a signature SNB annual tradition. Brew, Brats and Ballet offers audiences a chance to purchase some local brews and sausages from Hot Rods Catering (*not included in ticket price) while enjoying new eclectic choreographic offerings from eight different choreographers. Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry returns to Virginia City for 34th Year
Ready to have a ball… or two? Put the 34th Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry and St. Patrick’s Day celebration in historic Virginia City at the top of your list. Daring revelers can sample tasty testes from cooks competing for the title of ‘Best Of,’ ‘People’s Choice’ and more. We’re bringing you a whole day of fun with live Irish music, festive drinks, a St. Patrick’s Day parade, costume contest and, of course, Rocky Mountain Oysters served up in a variety of t(e)sty ways. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on C Street in Virginia City.
Cocoa at the Cabin with North Tahoe Recreation & Parks
Bundle up and join us at the North Tahoe Regional Park for a cozy winter social! This is a free community event. Enjoy hot cocoa, music, and snowman building as you embrace the magic of Tahoe in the winter. The wood-burning stove and fire pits will be roaring to keep you warm. Take part in snowy fun, relax by the fire, and experience the charm of a classic Tahoe cabin. Takes place at the Lewellyn Scout Cabin (above the Ramada, under the Tahoe Treetop Adventure Course. A.V.A Ballet Theatre and the Reno Phil’s Peter Pan at the Pioneer Center
The spring season for the A.V.A. Ballet Theatre opens with the classic ballet Peter Pan on March 15 and 16 at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. Re-staged and re-choreographed by Alexander Van Alstyne, Peter Pan is the captivating story of Peter Pan and Wendy and their adventures in Neverland. Fairies, pirates and the Lost Boys all have starring roles in this fantasy adventure. This classic story is filled with mesmerizing dance, intrigue, and is fun for the entire family. The composer of the wonderful Peter Pan score, Carmon DeLeone, will be conducting the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. DeLeone is the music director for the Cincinnati Ballet. The Saturday March 15th performance will be held at 7pm and the Sunday March 16th performance will be at 2pm. Ticket prices for adults are $30 to $60.
