According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) of South Lake Tahoe, just after 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, another large boulder came crashing onto Highway 50, striking a vehicle.
No injuries were reported, but while on scene, deputies stated that a second “huge” boulder came down, without incident.
“Be vigilant when traveling through the burn areas,” CHP said in a tweet. “Very unstable hillsides.”
This comes just a day after Highway 50 was closed through Echo Summit due to a large boulder that had to be drilled and blasted in order to move it.
