On Feb. 19, 2025 Lyon County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the Western Command Patrol Area responded to an unwanted subject call in the Dayton area.
Western Command Deputies contacted Timothy Dean Johnson, and discovered he had an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant. Deputies arrested Johnson on the warrant, at which time Johnson resisted arrest and battered one of the arresting deputies.
Once Johnson was taken into custody, one of the responding deputies, who is also a member of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Task Force, recognized Johnson as a convicted sexual offender. Deputies confirmed that Johnson had recently moved back into Lyon County and had failed to register with the Sheriff’s Office, as required by law. Johnson was booked into the Lyon County Jail on multiple charges, including failing to register as a sex offender, resisting arrest and battery on a peace officer.
