Carson High School celebrated the grand opening of its new Career Closet this afternoon, providing students with access to professional attire for job interviews, internships, career fairs and other workplace readiness opportunities.
The Career Closet is a new on-campus resource designed to remove financial barriers and promote confidence, professionalism and career readiness among students. The closet offers gently used and new business attire to ensure every student has access to appropriate clothing for professional settings.
Students and staff from Carson High School, CTE (Career and Technical Education) teachers, district administrators, school board trustees and community partners attended and helped lead the event. The grand opening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Lori Bagwell, along with brief remarks from school leaders and recognition of the community partners who helped make the Career Closet possible.
“The Career Closet is more than a collection of clothing, it is an investment in students’ futures,” said Candi Robles, Career and Technical Education and Work-based Learning coordinator at Carson High School. “By ensuring access to professional attire, the Career Closet complements classroom instruction by reinforcing workplace expectations and employability skills.”
From mock interviews to career fairs, students will now have the opportunity to present themselves with confidence and professionalism, fully prepared for real-world experiences, Robles continued.

Several CTE students in attendance were among the first to browse the newly organized space, selecting dress shirts, blouses, slacks, jackets, shoes and accessories. Many shared their appreciation for having a convenient, supportive resource on campus that removes financial stress and allows them to focus on their goals.
“This new Career Closet makes a huge difference for students like me,” said Carson High senior Bianca Gallardo, 17. “Knowing I can borrow professional clothes takes away a lot of stress. This resource will help me find clothing for Skills USA competitions and help me feel confident and prepared to make a great first impression.”
During the grand opening event, school officials also expressed gratitude to the generous community partners and donors, whose contributions of time, funding and clothing made the Career Closet a reality.
“Their support reflects a shared commitment to preparing Carson High students for success beyond graduation,” Robles said.
The Career Closet will be available to students throughout the school year, ensuring that every Carson High School Senator has access to the tools they need to look and feel their best as they take the next steps toward college and career success.
