A structure fire at a Stagecoach mobile home Monday morning took the life of an adult male who died at the scene after he was pulled from the home by firefighters, according to Central Lyon County Fire Protection District.
The victim’s identity has not been released. Fire Chief Rich Harvey said the incident happened in a double-wide mobile home on Iroquois Trail near Cheyenne street. The call came in at 7:49 a.m. of smoking coming out of the residence.
Firefighters arrived and were able to pull the victim out of the home where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, said Harvey. The cause of death has not been determined.
The fire was mostly confined to the interior of the home and was quickly extinguished, said Harvey. Seven firefighting units were called to fight the fire.
The incident is being investigated by the Nevada State Fire Marshal and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. The cause has not been determined.
