The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is joining forces with surrounding law enforcement agencies on Friday, February 21st

We will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint on E. William St. in Carson City.  Our goal is to reduce traffic crashes and fatalities associated with driving while impaired.

Every day, about 37 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes.

That is one person every 39 minutes. On average, more than 13,000 people died in 2021 and 2022 in these preventable crashes.

Please be a responsible driver by planning your ride home before you start drinking.

Call a taxi, a ride service, or a sober friend or family member. If you are drinking, do not drive.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will continue to enforce traffic safety laws and educate the public year-round as part of their commitment to reduce accidents and save lives. Whether you’re the driver, a passenger, or a pedestrian, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to make safety on our roadways their top priority.

This checkpoint is paid for by the “Joining Forces” grant from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety.

Please contact Sergeant Olson at solson@carson.org or 775-283-7887 if you have any questions.
