It’s been almost 53 years since the famous Billie Jean King vs Bobby Riggs tennis match, and with both CHS Varsity Boys and Girls Tennis Teams on a bye Tuesday, they held their own version of this special type of matchup.
Boys 1,2,3 doubles and singles played the Girls 1,2,3 doubles and singles as well as the non-starters playing against one another.
In the end 14 matches in total were played with the final score being 7-7, a tie. Girls Tennis Coach Paul Maguire stated: “There was some good close tennis matches played and what is even more important is the team building and comradery that forms from this type of an event.”
CHS Girls Varsity Tennis is at home Thursday August 27, 2026, against Galena, while the Boys team travels to Galena for their match.
