A 36-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for felony battery with substantial bodily harm after allegedly hitting a man who fell to the concrete causing a brain bleed, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Following an investigation, deputies arrest Byron Perez. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to a convenience store in the 1100 block of North Carson Street for a welfare check on a person. The reporting party advised there was a male on the ground bleeding.
Carson City Fire Department had arrived on scene and were attending to the male victim, who was bleeding from the back of his head, according to the report. He was taken to the hospital for further evaluation. Witnesses on scene advised a male, later identified as Perez, had struck the victim. The suspect was located along with a woman and placed into custody.
The victim was taken to the hospital and was interviewed by a deputy. The victim advised he did not remember what had happened and that he only remembered that he had been drinking vodka. Hospital staff then advised the man suffered a brain bleed in his head. He was taken to a Reno hospital trauma ward for care, the report states.
The investigating CCSO deputy observed video footage from the convenience store where it showed the suspect striking the victim, which caused him to fall backward and strike his head on the pavement, the report states.
Due to having the brain bleed in his head after being struck by the suspect, Perez was booked into Carson City Jail for suspicion of felony battery with substantial bodily harm. Bail: $25,000.
In a related booking as part of the investigation, a 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor resisting a public officer.
According to the booking report, deputies responded to the convenience store in the 1100 block of North Carson Street to investigate the battery in which Perez was later arrested for battery causing substantial bodily harm.
During the deputy’s investigation, suspect Bryon Perez was found nearby along with a female. During the encounter with deputies, both individuals were given multiple commands at gunpoint to come out from behind a vehicle.
The woman eventually came out but refused to keep her hands up and refused to get on the ground. She was arrested due to her not complying and refusing lawful commands, obstructing the investigation. Bail: $412.

— A 73-year-old Carson City man, Lonnie Ray Snyder, was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of two counts gross misdemeanor battery on a protected person and misdemeanor battery.
According to the booking report, deputies responded to a battery at 9:44 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Carson Street. Deputies arrived and met with the victim who said they had been punched in the face by the suspect after an argument.
As the suspect was being interviewed after being taken to the hospital, he flung blood on a deputy and on one of the nursing staff members during a belligerent outburst with the treating staff members, the booking report states.
Once the suspect was medically cleared, he was taken to jail and booked for suspicion of two counts gross misdemeanor battery on a protected person and one count misdemeanor battery. Bail: $6,000.
— A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Wednesday for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant out of Douglas County. Bail: $1,140 cash.
— A 76-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday for a misdemeanor violation of conditions of suspicion warrant. Bail; $1,000 cash.
— A 68-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000 cash.
