Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called Tuesday afternoon to Highway 50 East in the area of Flint Road for a bicycle rider who suffered a medical issue.
The call came into dispatch at 12:21 p.m. regarding an adult male who was riding a bicycle when he apparently suffered a medical issue while traveling in the eastbound lane.
Multiple 911 calls were made to Carson City dispatch. First responders on scene said the incident wasn’t a vehicle crash but that the rider had suffered a medical issue.
The patient was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The eastbound lane was closed briefly for traffic control to allow for emergency personnel.
