Read a good book lately? Many Nevadans are unable to read standard printed material, but you can help change that.
Nevada Talking Books, located in Carson City, is part of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped network of the Library of Congress.
Their service provides audiobooks free of charge to individuals who cannot read physical books, but needs volunteers to read and record or review the audiobooks provided.
Software training will be provided to volunteers, and a minimum commitment of two hours per week is required. Volunteers must be computer literate.
While all volunteers are appreciated, Talking Books needs more male voices to read books with a male narrator.
Each book you help create will be made available to thousands of readers waiting for their next story.
Talking Books is located inside the Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records at 100 N. Stewart Street.
