Carson City Fire Department responded late Monday morning to the 200 block of North Division Street for a report of light smoke coming from a preschool that was later determined to be from a burned heater inside an HVAC system.

All children were safely evacuated from the preschool at 212 North Division Street. According to dispatch, at around 11:13 a.m. there was a report of a smell of smoke coming from the building.

First responders on scene reported all had been safely evacuated and that there was a light haze in the building. At 11:40 a.m. the source was determined to be from the HVAC system, according to a CCFD battalion chief.
