Carson High School announced the names of the elite who will get to be called candidates and royalty for the school’s annual Winterfest week. This year’s candidates have come from all walks of life, but as it would appear they have come out on top of the student body. The king candidates are: Jake Jones, Seamus Burns, Brandon Allen, Daniel Cihigoyenetche and Brady Rivera. Colby Brown was also elected a king candidate as well, but had to withdraw due to prior commitments during the week. The queen candidates are: Samantha Lowe, Shelby Brown, Mi-Reyna Moore, Teresa Boehmer, Cindy Ortiz Pacheco and Taylor Krupp. The king and queen will be crowned at half time of the basketball game against Damonte Ranch High School this Friday. The girls game begins at 5:15 and the guys game will begin at 7:00.
Along with the usual King and Queen candidates, this year was also the second annual year for the Royal Court. The Royal Court features three prince and princess candidates from each class, besides the senior class, whom will be crowned Thursday at the ice rink located next to the Carson Nugget at 8:00. The Freshman Prince candidates are: Andrew Davalos, Kyle Glanzman and Zachary Schmidt. The Freshman Princess candidates are: Gabriella Escobar-Ruiz, Camiell Simpson and Lauren Lemburg. The Sophomore Prince candidates are: Tyler Huling, Daniel Dudley and Brandon Gagnon with matching Princess counterparts of: Mia Brozovich, Julianna Williams and Dominique D’Orazi. The Junior class Prince candidates are: Jonathan Ventura, David Lewis and Asa Carter. Finally, the Junior class Princess candidates are: Jocelyn Adrian, Natalie Hachenbergerand and Paris Regan.
Win or lose, all of the candidates should be very proud to be elected by their respective classes and are very excited to be participating in all lunch time activities, night time activities and dress up days that the week entails.
