Local Rotarians will learn more about the Rotary’s Interact Clubs at the next club meeting. Tahoe-Incline Rotarian and Interact Chair Dave Olson will be the guest speaker at the luncheon which takes place Tuesday, Jan. 27 at noon, in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom in Carson City.

Interact Clubs are geared for middle and high school students with the goal of getting young people interested in becoming Rotarians as adults. “Through Interact, young people experience the power of service, discover new cultures, and promote international understanding while developing leadership skills and making new friends,” Olson said.

Adult sponsors help guide the students to develop skills, interests, and community connections. Olson says the program also helps young people global citizens. “When they join an Interact club, young people become part of the global community, connecting with other young leaders from around the world, gaining a deeper understanding of international events, and forging new friendships.

The public is invited to attend the meeting to learn more and see if the clubs could be a good fit for their teen aged children.

The Brewery Arts Center is located at 449 West King Street in Carson City. Anyone interested in attending should email carsoncitynvrotary@gmail.com
