
A 26-year-old man was arrested Jan. 13 for suspicion of possession of heroin and methamphetamine as well as among other alleged offenses, having two felony bench warrants, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Christian Jose Morales, listed as a Gardnerville resident, was taken into custody at 4:16 p.m. He was also booked for suspicion of driving without a valid license, fictitious registration and obstructing and resisting.
According to the booking report, a deputy was patrolling the area of Spooner Drive and Carriage Crest and observed a vehicle without a front license plate displayed. The officer got behind the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at Northridge and Southcrest.
The deputy contacted the driver and sole occupant, who identified himself with a print-out of his expired driver’s license. The man appeared nervous and would not follow the officer’s simple directions regarding the stop, the report states.
The deputy ran his name through dispatch and was advised he had two confirmed bench warrants out of Douglas County.
The officer asked the man to follow instructions and step out of the vehicle. The man stepped out, however he would not follow other directions. He was handcuffed and taken to the patrol vehicle. During a search, the officer located two small ziplock bags inside his front pants pocket, the report states.
One baggie had methamphetamine and the other, approximately 1 gram of heroin. He was booked for suspicion of two counts possession of a controlled substance, obstructing, the warrants, driving without a valid license and fictitious registration. Total bail amount listed: $7,141.

— A 52-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Friday in the area of William and Plaza streets for suspicion of DUI.
According to the booking report a deputy observed a vehicle going westbound on William Street with a placard hanging from the rearview mirror, obstructing the windshield. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, who identified herself with a Nevada Driver’s License.
The deputy could smell a moderate odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The officer observed the woman’s eyes were red, watery and bloodshot and there was an odor of alcohol on her breath, the report states.
The officer asked the woman if she had consumed any alcohol. The woman said she had. She submitted to field sobriety tests where the officer observed signs of impairment and she was booked for suspicion of DUI alcohol/drugs. She refused evidentiary testing. A deputy applied for and was granted a blood draw by a Carson City judge. Bail: $1,137.
— A 54-year-old Florida man was arrested Jan. 13 in the 3200 block of Market Street for suspicion of DUI. According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched at 6:44 p.m. to the 3200 block of Market Street in reference to a dispute between a subject camping in the parking lot and a tow truck driver.
When the deputy arrived he spoke with the reporting party who said that a man was upset with him and stated the man was extremely intoxicated and about to drive off. The reporting party stated he would sign a complaint for driving under the influence, the report states.
The deputy watched as the subject drove off through the parking lot. By the time the officer caught up with the vehicle, it was approaching the stop sign on the west side of the parking lot. The vehicle did not stop at the limit line. The deputy conducted a traffic stop.
The driver identified himself and explained he was asked to leave Walmart and that was why he was driving away. The deputy asked the man if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages. The man said he had, a 12 ounce Bud Light an hour prior. The deputy could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person and his eyes were red and watery, the report states.
He submitted to field sobriety tests and showed signs of being under the influence. He provided a preliminary breath test with a .106 result. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. At jail he submitted to an evidentiary blood test. Bail: $1,137.
— A 21-year-old Virginia City man was arrested Jan. 13 in the 3400 block of Highway 50 East for driving on a revoked license due to DUI and for brake lights required. Bail: $1,209.
