Carson High School students are taking their creativity beyond the classroom and onto the big screen as juniors Jackson Hendee and Benjamin Achoka debut “Ezra and the Mavericks,” an original full-length feature film made possible through a special partnership with Galaxy Theatres.

“Ezra and the Mavericks” is a student-led production that showcases the creativity, dedication and talent of local artists. The film stars fellow Carson High students Nygel Toreson, Jackson Hendee, Bay Eaton, Benjamin Achoka, Spencer Fitzpatrick, Roman Carlo Gonzales and many more, highlighting a wide range of student performers and collaborators.

While the movie has already been released online, this project has now reached an exciting new milestone. Thanks to Carson High School’s strong partnership with Galaxy Theatres, the theater has generously agreed to donate their venue for a special theatrical release of the film. The one-night-only screening will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 6:00 p.m.

Tickets for the event will cost $5, and in an incredible show of support, Galaxy Theatres will donate $4 from every ticket sold to the Carson High Theatre Program, a program in which many of the film’s students actively participate. This event provides a rare and meaningful opportunity for students to experience their hard work showcased on the silver screen while also giving back to the arts community at Carson High.
