A 52-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday night after lighting a fire on the side of the road near W. 5th and Division.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area after multiple callers reported someone had started a fire on the side of the road and were burning things near a wooden fence.
When deputies arrived around 10:38 p.m., the fire department was already on scene and had extinguished the fire.

Deputies asked her for her identification, and she insisted she had none, and provided a name and date of birth which returned with no match.
Deputies took her into custody just before 11 p.m., and while searching her they discovered a small clear bag with a white crystalline substance inside her jacket pocket which later tested positive for methamphetamine, a glass pipe with burn marks inside her pants pocket, and a glass pipe with burn marks inside her jacket pocket.
Deputies also located an identification card with the woman’s correct name on it as well as her picture, and the woman stated the ID was not valid and the name was not correct.
Upon running this new information through dispatch, it was confirmed she had an extraditable warrant out of Reno Municipal Court without bail.
She was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, open burn without a permit, providing a false statement/obstructing, and an outside agency warrant.
No bail on warrant out of Reno.
