A 20-year-old man was arrested Jan. 3 for suspicion of gross misdemeanor possession of burglary tools and a misdemeanor outside agency warrant, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
According to the report, at 9:36 p.m. deputies observed a man helping another man enter into an abandoned building located at the Ormsby House, 600 South Carson Street. The subjects were stopped, detained and questioned. One of the subjects said they were entering the building to take pictures of the roof.
The number of subjects who entered the building was unknown, the report states.
While investigating, deputies located an adult male subject walking on the north side of the Ormbsy House. He was detained and deputies continued to investigation and learned of a confirmed warrant out of Justice Court in Reno.
Deputies located a crowbar in the man’s pants. He was arrested and booked for a possessing, concealed burglary tool during the night hours and the Reno warrant.
Bail: No bail hold for the warrant, $2,000 for possession of burglary tool.

— A 61-year-old Carson City man, James Mortensen, was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony sex offenses failing to register. Bail: $5,000.
— A 46-year-old man was arrested Jan. 3 for suspicion of misdemeanor trespass and obstructing a public officer. According to the booking report, deputies were called to a casino in the 1900 block of North Carson Street for a subject refusing to leave.
Deputies arrived and observed the man, who was unsteady on his feet and being verbal with employees. They advised they wanted the man trespassed. The man was verbally uncooperative with deputies and refused to identify himself. He refused to leave the property and refused to blow a preliminary breath tests. The casino signed off on a citizens arrest form. Bail: $1,137.
— A 24-year-old man was arrested Jan. 4, 12:06 p.m. in the area of Long and Rand streets for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant issued Nov. 19, 2024 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000 cash.
— A 67-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Jan. 3 for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant issued Oct. 22, 2024 out of Fallon Municipal Court. Bail: $1,075.
— A 40-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Jan. 3 for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant issued out of East Fork Township. Bail: $500.
— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant issued out of Reno Municipal Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 67-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant issued out of Dayton Township Justice Court. Bail: $1,235.
