UPDATE: A Reno area couple, who were overdue after they went out exploring the backcountry and subsequently reported missing, have been located, according to their daughter in a social media post.
“My parents have been found! They broke down in the desert above Gerlach and have been walking in the desert for two days. I am going to get them now!” writes Rebecca Bernal of her parents.
She did not mention what conditions they are in. A family friend advised on Facebook that the couple was “OK,” adding “Becky is headed there to pick them up. I can’t believe they walked 2 days in that weather/cold!”

Randy and Bonita Bernal had been exploring ghost towns and remote areas in the backcountry and had been out of contact with family, according to Reno Police Department.
They drive a black 1987 Suzuki Samari that has red and orange stripes along the bottom and are traveling with their pet white terrier.

Randy Bernal is in his early 70s, is Caucasian, around 6 feet tall and 200 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. He is in his early 70s. Bonita Bernal is in her mid to late 60s, caucasion, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 200 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes.
