Captains Mark and Dora Stearns

We have just past a season of giving. Presents were given to loved ones. Baked goods were given to friends and neighbors. Smiles were given to strangers. It is truly “the most wonderful time of the year.”
The Salvation Army was present in our community this year. OH MY! The community stepped up and gave. In November we received 259 turkeys to give to our neighbors who would not otherwise have had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.
In December, you gave again when you supported the Angel Tree program. Hundreds of children woke up Christmas morning with special gifts because you gave. Our Red Kettles were out in all kinds of weather. Because you gave, Morning Latch Key programs and After School Care will be able to continue.
You see, when you give to The Salvation Army, you are not giving to an organization, but you’re giving to your community. We take your generous gift and reinvest it in the people of our community all year. It’s about The Salvation Army being the kind of neighbor you have trusted for over 155 years.
So, on behalf of all our neighbors who benefit from your kind gifts, let me say a heartfelt THANK YOU! Your kindness this Christmas season made someone’s day a little bit brighter. “Doing the Most Good” is why The Salvation Army is here. Serving our neighbors in Carson City, Douglas County, Lyon County, Storey County, and the South Lake Tahoe area.
May God Bless you and yours in 2022,
Captains Mark and Dora Stearns,
Salvation Army serving Carson City and the surrounding area
