Even with the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Forest Service says it is hopeful the holiday period will be a great opportunity for people to get outside to celebrate Independence Day and all the wonders of Lake Tahoe.

Storey County cancels Virginia City Fireworks amid COVID-19 concerns, Cruise to continue as planned

According to Carmona, there was an issue with releasing the cancellation announcement but the fireworks are indeed cancelled this year.

Vegetation in western Nevada has dried out significantly. A large crop of dry grass and brush is evident at lower elevations, and trees and other forest vegetation at higher elevations are quickly drying out.

Flynn Robert Gabriel, 36, was arrested on two felony warrants issued out of Carson City Justice Court. The first is for lewdness with a child under 14 years of age. The second is for use of a minor as agent involving drugs, both issued on April 17, 2020.

Carson City man arrested for DUI drugs after swerving between lanes

According to the report, deputies were driving south on Saliman when they noticed the vehicle in front of them swerving across the double yellow line. Deputies followed the vehicle and observed it swerve out of its lane another time before going to stop at a stop sign for a “short period of time.”
