Carson City murder suspect kills himself in standoff with Reno police
Murder suspect Michael Dylan Brentlinger was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a Reno park after a standoff with police there, confirms Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

A man has been found shot and possibly dead in a Reno park, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said. The man may be the suspect in Saturday's fatal shooting.
Carson City Sheriff's Office detectives are on their way to Reno this afternoon. It is believed the suspect in Saturday morning's killing, Brentlinger, was found shot, possibly fatally self-inflicted, in the area of 630 Manzanita in Reno.
Carson City Sheriff Furlong said an identification has not been made on the person yet but it is believed to be the suspect.
KTVN Channel 2 reports Reno police were called to a park Monday in south Reno. Police responded to the area and had a short standoff with the suspect. KTVN Reporter Paul Nelson heard one gunshot a short time into the standoff. A body with a cover over the top was seen by the KTVN reporter.
Brentlinger was believed to be driving a white 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier NV/948XAT. He is wanted in connection with the killing of a Carmine Road man and critically wounding the man's daughter, Brentlinger's ex-girlfriend. The vehicle may or may not have plates on the vehicle but instead may have a temporary paper plate tag on the front window.
