Carson City Trio arrested on felony drug crimes following call regarding a crying woman
Three Carson City men were arrested in the 2300 block of Columbia Way for felony drug-related crimes.
According to the arrest report, Thomas L. Cornwell (68), Nolan Lynn Bonds (72) and Robert Kenneth Weaver (55) were arrested after deputies received a call regarding sounds of a crying woman inside the residence.
Deputies stated in the report that the residence is well known to SET detectives in regards to drug activity, and received a report that someone heard a woman crying inside the residence. However, according to the report, no woman was located during the search of the residence.
SET Detectives entered the residence to try and locate the woman, and located Weaver as he was attempting to hide in the living room. Detectives located a methamphetamine pipe, crumbled up tin foil next to a butane torch, and more foil with a spoon containing residue, all within plain view.
Deputies applied for a search warrant based on the information which was granted. Deputies further searched the home and located:
Additional methamphetamine pipes in a bedroom, a spoon with residue and a “makeshift methamphetamine pipe” inside of a shed, two tooter straws and a container with methamphetamine inside in a bedroom; a vial of lidocaine, a methamphetamine pipe set and tooter straw inside a bedroom closet; and a bottle of Trazadone which was not prescribed to Bonds.
Weaver is an ex-felon and was registered at a West Sutro Terrace residence. Because he had been living at the Columbia Way for approximately two months, he was arrested for ex-felon failure to update registration, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail:
Cornwell was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription. Bail: $6,137
Bonds was arrested for possession of a controlled substance because deputies “located over 100 grams of marijuana in his living quarters,” according to the report. Bail: $2,500
Weaver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being an ex-felon failing to register. Bail: $3,892
