Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Woman booked on domestic battery for kicking, hitting with shoes

A 28 year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Saturday morning at 4:20 a.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street on misdemeanor first offense domestic battery after kicking and striking a male companion with her shoes, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to the area reference to a domestic dispute between a male and a female from inside of a business. The female subject was reported to be running from the scene, dispatch reported.

Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with security, which reported a couple had been fighting inside of the business and then proceeded to leave and walk toward a parking lot.

Security reported that the female subject had hit the male over the head with her shoes and also kicked him, the report said.

Subjects matching the descriptions were located by the deputy, who made contact with them. The male subject was observed to have bruising and an open wound on the right side of his forehead.

Both the male and the female were observed to be visibly intoxicated, the report said, and smelled heavily of alcohol.

The male reported the couple began to argue due to their intoxication. He also reported that the injury to his forehead was caused by running into someone as the couple left the business and he fell on the ground, the report said.

Additional deputies on scene gathered statements from witnesses who corroborated security's report that the female had battered the male.

But when law enforcement informed the couple that the female was going to be arrested, they became irate. The male placed his arm between the officer and the woman, the report said, but other deputies at the scene gained control of him.

The woman started crying and became limp as law enforcement attempted to arrest her. She resisted efforts to help her get to her feet by throwing herself to the ground, the report said.

She resited further, the report said, but the deputy was able to gain control over the suspect and secure her in handcuffs. The woman remained uncooperative, kicking and fighting as she was placed in the patrol vehicle.

The woman was transported to the Carson City Jail, where she remained uncooperative and resisted law enforcement at booking. She was placed in a safety cell. Bail: $3,000.

According to the report, a patrolling Sheriff's deputy noted a pickup truck parked on the concrete median dividing northbound on ramps to I-580 on the north side of Highway 50.

When asked how his vehicle came to rest on the concrete median, the suspect said he had driven his vehicle onto it while on his way home and parked there in an effort to find his cell phone, which had fallen between the seats.

The vehicle engine was running and its tires were warm to the touch, the report said.

"I know I'm drunk, I'm not gonna lie," the suspect said. "I had a lot of drinks tonight, I'm just trying to get home."

He consented to field sobriety testing (FST) which showed signs of impairment. A preliminary breath test (PBT) was also consented, the report said, and yielded a result of .171 percent breath alcohol content (BAC).
