Spectacular photos of Tuesday's 'Super Pink Moon' rising over Carson City
Tuesday's rising of what astronomers dubbed as a "Super Pink Moon" over the Carson City area was everything we hoped it could be, thanks to clear skies. The moon, cast with an orange and pink hue, was full last night, and will appear mostly full again Wednesday night and partially full Thursday evening.
According to Space.com, people from all over the world got a front-row seat to celestial rising. Skywatchers from every corner of the globe, weather permitting, enjoyed a special and unique astronomical moment.

The final photo, with the transformer set against the moon, was submitted by Jim Heck, and was taken near Carson City in Jacks Valley. He wrote the following: "So just wanted to get a pic of the Super Pink Moon rising Tuesday night and couldn’t get a clear shot in the backyard and then went hmmm. This might be interesting. Kind of looks like the robot from "Lost in Space."
