National Seed Swap Day – January 31, 2026 – Carson City Master Gardeners Hosting Event at The Carriage House
January 31 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

The Carson City Master Gardeners invite the community to their first Annual Seed Swap January 31, 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The event will be held at the Carriage House behind the historic Foreman-Roberts House, 1207 N Carson St, Carson City, Nevada.
This free event is part of a nationwide effort to strengthen connections within the gardening community, offering an opportunity for both new and experienced gardeners to collect or swap seeds and get ready for a thriving season. No seeds are required to join—the event is open to everyone, regardless of experience. Just drop in to gather or exchange seeds and meet fellow gardening enthusiasts who share your love for growing.
The event will feature:
• Advice from the Carson City Master Gardeners
• Garden basket raffles (with cash donations supporting local program)
• Research-based fact sheets on horticulture
• Passive demonstrations on winter sowing and grow lights
In addition to Carson City, UNR Extension’s Master Gardeners offers seed swaps in Gardnerville, Reno, and Sparks.
This Seed Swap is a great opportunity to support biodiversity, meet fellow gardeners, talk with our Master Gardeners, and build a stronger, greener community…and share seeds.
