Early Childhood Education Mini-Conference Set for October 17th

October 17 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

CARSON CITY, NV — Local educators, caregivers, and early childhood advocates will gather next month for the annual Fall Early Childhood Education Conference, presented by the Carson Douglas Early Childhood Advisory Council (CD ECAC). The event takes place on Saturday, October 17, at the Carson High School Tech Center. 

This year’s keynote speaker is Mrs. Kendra Tuttle, who was named the Carson City School District Educator of the Year for 2026 and is currently a nominee for Nevada Teach of the Year (!) Mrs. Tuttle will focus on building trust in early childhood and her experiences working with young children.

The event offers professional development training tailored for early learning providers. Training sessions include:
• Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health
• Cultivating TRUST in Early Childhood Classrooms
• Music and Movement
• ECE Leadership

Pre-registration includes lunch! Carson High, Douglas High, and WNC ECE students are FREE! 

Event Details & Registration:
• Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026
• Time: Check in begins at 8:00 AM; Training runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Location: Carson High School Tech Center– 1111 North Saliman Rd, Carson City, NV
• Admission: $15 at the door (Payment accepted via check made out to “The Children’s Cabinet” only, no VENMO or CASH, sorry.) 
• Continuing Education: Attendees earn 4 Nevada Registry Hours
