Carson City to Kick Off Nevada Pride with Queer Film Night at Brewery Arts Center

June 12 @ 7:30 pm 11:59 pm

Carson City, NV — Nevada Pride celebrations will begin a little early this year in Carson City with a special community movie night designed to bring people together through laughter, nostalgia, and queer storytelling.

On Friday, June 12, Brewery Arts Center will host Nevada Pride Movie Night, featuring a screening of the 1999 cult-favorite romantic comedy “Trick.” The film follows two young men navigating an unexpectedly complicated night in New York City as they search for a place to be alone, delivering a mix of humor, heart, and relatable moments that have made it a beloved staple of queer cinema.

Doors for the event will open at 7:00 p.m., with the film beginning at 7:30 p.m. Organizers say the evening is intended to serve as an accessible and welcoming entry point into Pride weekend festivities, particularly for those seeking a relaxed, community-centered experience.

This is about creating a space where people can come together, laugh, connect, and celebrate queer stories. It felt important to start Pride with something that highlights joy and shared experience.

Following the screening, attendees are invited to continue the celebration at an after party, extending the evening’s focus on connection and community.

Held in the heart of Carson City, the event reflects a growing effort to expand Pride programming beyond larger metropolitan areas and into neighboring communities, offering opportunities for residents and visitors alike to participate in meaningful and inclusive celebrations.

Nevada Pride Movie Night is open to the public and aims to set the tone for a weekend of festivities by honoring queer culture through film—one story, one night, and one shared experience at a time.
