Call for Auditions: SWEENY TODD
December 6 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
When: December 1: 6-8pm, December 3: 6-8pm, and December 6: 10am-12pm
Where: The Annex- 1572 Hwy 395, Minden
Vocal Requirements
* A 16-32 bar cut (approx. 1-1.5 minutes) of a prepared song.
* Must be from a Dramatic or “Legit” musical (not Pop/Rock).
* The director recommends a song by Stephen Sondheim (but NOT from Sweeney Todd), Kurt Weill, or similar operetta/darker dramatic style.
* Bring a clearly marked, double-sided sheet music in a binder for the provided accompanist. No acappella or backing tracks.
Acting Requirements
* A short memorized (1-2 minute) Dramatic Monologue.
* The monologue must demonstrate the ability to portray a complex, serious, and high-stakes character.
Callbacks (if needed) will be held on December 6 from 1-4pm.
Rehearsals will begin Monday, December 15th
Show Dates: March 13-15 and 19-22, 2026.
