The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Division and law enforcement agencies statewide will be on the lookout for motorists not wearing their seatbelts as part of a “click it or ticket” campaign, Nov. 10-30, 2023.

The campaign aims to increase law enforcement participation by coordinating highly visible patrols across the state looking for seatbelt violations and educating the motoring public about seat belts and their significance during a vehicle crash, according to a news release from Nevada State Police.

As of September 2023, there have been 287 fatalities on Nevada roadways, with 50 being unrestrained motorists according to ZeroFatalitiesNV.com.

Law enforcement agencies will be taking a no excuse approach to seat belt enforcement and will be issuing citations throughout the campaign, NSP said.

“The Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol remains dedicated to bringing the number of fatalities on Nevada’s roadways to zero through increasing public awareness about the dangers of speeding, driving unrestrained, impaired driving, reckless driving and more,” NSP said.
