In north Carson City at the corner of W. Winnie Lane and North Carson Street sits a business you might not have noticed. No fancy logos, no cute name. Just a commitment to wellness in an understated strip mall. But, once you meet Start Now Wellness Center owner Cheryl Pricco, you’ll fast become aware of the magic that can be found inside to reduce the stress of living in today’s frenetic world.
There’s nothing particularly fancy about the Center located at 2060 N. Carson Street, but the treatments afforded by the number of unique therapy machines could be life changing, so states the owner.
Pricco knows her stuff, having spent five years providing healing therapy at David Walley’s Hot Springs Resort and suddenly finding herself being forced to relocate when the resort was sold. That was June 2019 and with only 30 days to relocate, Riccio searched far and wide and chose 2050 N. Carson Street to reinstate her business.
Then came COVID and the mandated close of all “non-essential business.” Today, Pricco is rebuilding her business to offer clients health therapies to become stronger and better balanced to withstand whatever next may come along.
Featured are all sorts of detoxifying treatments to revitalize the body by reducing inflammation, boosting circulation, and ridding the body of environmental toxins. She attests, “If you are feeling tired and sluggish, we’ll help improve your energy by decreasing your toxins.”
Believing “You don’t always need a scalpel, pill, or injection to improve your body or well-being,” Pricco offers specialized detoxifying machines to provide results for physical and mental well-being.
The Infrared Sauna Therapy eliminates 7 times more toxins than Swedish saunas while promoting relaxation and relaxing muscles and improve circulation. The mud baths rid the body of toxins as does the Ionic Cleanse Foot Bath. The B Andrew Skin Care products featured are natural, vegan and organic.
She knows no place outside of Reno to receive Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, offering two such machines often used to speed up healing of stubborn wounds and infections as well as to increase circulation and reduce swelling.
Out, out stubborn fat – thanks to the Laser Lipo therapy touted to reduce fat cells. Pricco operates two of these machines along with a whole body vibration machine that can firm and tone. She also specializes in low level light therapy, a non-invasive treatment used to relieve pain and other musculoskeletal conditions.
The Center is under the direction of medical director Dr. Zayd Ratansi, a licensed Naturopathic Physician and a global authority on hyperbaric, bio-oxidative, and environmental medicine.
According to Pricco, The average age of the client seen at the wellness center is around 40 who want to improve their overall energy, sleep better, detoxify, lose some weight, and improve skin tone.
As we come out of the COVID era, more emphasis on how we manage our lives and bodies has become more important and the Start Now Wellness Center could be the start of a new beginning.
