The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applicants to fill a vacant seat on the Open Space Advisory Committee, with applications due Oct. 1.
The opening is for one partial term created by a resignation. The term expires in January 2028.
The Open Space Advisory Committee works to promote quality of life in Carson City through the preservation and protection of the natural environment. Its duties are established under Chapter 13.06 of the Carson City Municipal Code.
Applicants must be registered voters in Carson City.
The committee meets at 5:30 p.m. on the third Monday of every other month in the Bob Crowell Board Room at the Carson City Community Center.
Applications will be accepted through Oct. 1. Interviews for the volunteer position are tentatively scheduled for the Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting Thursday, Oct. 15.
Applications submitted to the city are considered public information.
The city is also seeking volunteers to fill several other vacancies on local boards, committees and commissions.
Current openings include one position on the Library Board of Trustees, one position on the Historic Resources Commission, four positions on the 9-1-1 Surcharge Advisory Committee and three positions on the Board of Appeals. Those positions are listed as open until filled.
