A 38-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of felony burglary of a motor vehicle, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Following an investigation, CCSO deputies arrested Leilani Bryana Johnson. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched at 10:22 p.m. to the 2700 block of North Roop Street for a suspicious subject. The reporting party (RP) advised that a female was attempting to enter vehicles located on the property.
Upon arrival, a deputy observed the woman, later identified as Johnson, standing near a silver Dodge Dakota that matched the description of the reporting party’s vehicle. As deputies arrived, she attempted to walk away from the vehicle at a fast pace. She complied with commands to stop and return, the report states.
Upon speaking to the RP, he advised the woman had attempted to gain entry into his vehicle and had climbed into the bed of the truck. He further advised that he wanted to pursue charges against the woman and provided a citizen’s arrest form, which he completed.
The RP also advised the woman had attempted to enter two other vehicles and that she was successful at accessing one of them. The vehicle was later observed to have its trunk and front passenger door open as well, the report states.
The woman was placed under arrest for suspicion of felony burglary of a vehicle. Bail: $20,000.
In other arrests:
— A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for suspicion of DUI, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report. At 9:35 p.m., a deputy was traveling westbound on East William and approached the intersection of Gold Dust Wa and East William. A vehicle pulled up beside the deputy, at which time the occupants were waving and trying to flag the deputy down. The deputy rolled down their window and the driver of the vehicle said there was a vehicle swerving all over the roadway and hitting traffic cones.
The deputy pulled into a parking lot and observed the described suspect vehicle parked diagonally inside the painted parking stall. The deputy contacted the driver of the vehicle, who exited the drivers’ seat and walked to the back of vehicle.
The deputy asked the driver if he had been drinking. The driver openly admitted yes. The deputy informed the man he was seen by another driver swerving and hitting traffic cones on William Street. The man admitted he did strike several cones and that one of them had ripped his mirror off, the report states.
The driver agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed clues of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test of .214 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Bail: $1,137.
— A 38-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested early Tuesday for suspicion of trespassing and obstructing, delaying or resisting a public officer.
According to the booking report, a deputy was called to a convenience store in the 3700 block of North Carson Street. A man was inside the business refusing to leave. The convenience store employees asked the man to leave and he silently refused, the report states.
When the deputy asked the man to leave, the man silently refused and also refused to provide his name. He was placed into handcuffs and arrested for trespassing and obstructing/delaying or resisting a public officer. Bail: $500.
— A 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant out of Washoe County. Bail: $1,905 cash.
