Carson City Fire Department knocked down a structure fire late Friday afternoon at an East Park Street home that caused significant damage to the attic. The cause remains under investigation.
Residents of the home, who were safely evacuated, are in contact with the American Red Cross. According to Carson City Fire Department Chief Kevin Nyberg, one firefighter suffered a minor ankle injury.
The fire was reported at 4:41 p.m. On its social media page, Carson City Fire Department extended its thanks to East Fork Professional Firefighters, Carson City Sheriff’s Office, NV Energy and Southwest Gas. Also noted for their support was Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Central Lyon Fire and REMSA Health.
