Carson City was well represented at the 2026 Fears, Tears, and Beers enduro mountain bike race on June 13 as athletes and supporters of the Senator Cycling youth mountain bike team traveled to Ely to compete in the country’s oldest enduro mountain bike race. This race is know for its challenging high-desert terrain, fast descents, and scenic backcountry trails.
Four Senator Cycling riders took on the demanding enduro format, which combines endurance and technical riding skills across multiple timed downhill stages connected by untimed climbing sections.
Competing in the Intermediate Youth division were Clark Wood (12), Mark Lobsinger III (12), and Evelyn Huntington (13). Their course covered approximately 16 miles, included 2,600 feet of elevation gain, and featured four timed downhill stages. All three riders delivered outstanding top 10 performances with Huntington earning 1st place, Lobsinger securing 3rd place, and Wood brining home 9th place.
In the Sport division, which included both youth and adult competitors, Jax Huntington (15) tackled an even more demanding course consisting of 26.4 miles, 3,700 feet of climbing, and five timed downhill stages. Racing against older and more experienced riders (99 total in the division), Huntington finished an impressive 9th place overall in the class.

Several Senator Cycling coaches also raced, including Justin and Jena Huntington, Mark Lobsinger II, and Brad Wick.
The racers and supporting Carson City families celebrated a weekend in Ely centered on outdoor recreation, sportsmanship, and community. The strong showing highlighted the continued growth of mountain biking in northern Nevada and the dedication of local trail-building organizations, and community support.
