Saturday, August 8th, CBP Aerial Arts, an authentic and professional aerial arts studio located in Gardnerville, presented its 2026 Annual Production, The Practically Perfect Mary Poppins, at the Carson City Community Theater – Bob Boldrick Theater.
The production featured 34 performers between 7 and 45 years old, with different levels of experience, ranging from new beginners to pre-professional aerialists with 10 years of practicing this art. The impressive and phenomenal family show combined aerial arts, tumbling, acting and dance.
Throughout the two-hour show, musical pieces from the Disney movie and other songwriters transported the audience into the magical world of our favorite English nanny. The iconic and colorful characters, such as Mary Poppins, Bert, Mr. Banks, Jane, and Michael, captivated the audience and evoked a range of emotions.
The artistic approach of this highly professional show was as beautiful as it was original. The beautiful Victorian-to-Edwardian costumes’ aesthetic and unique colorful props, such as the original carousel horses, gave the show a magical style. Projections of various backgrounds enhanced the experience’s uniqueness and guided the audience throughout the story. Solos, duets, trios, and group acts in aerial silks, aerial hoop, dance trapeze, and on the ground told this fabulous adventure in an unprecedented way. Spectacular scenes, including 25 performers flying and tumbling simultaneously, left the audience in awe.
The audience’s expectations were greatly exceeded, and people’s enthusiasm for CBP Aerial Arts 2027 Annual Production, Beauty and the Beast, was highly expressed.
