The Carson City School District Board of Trustees will vote on the district’s final budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, as well as adjustments to its capital improvement plan, during its upcoming meeting on Tuesday, May 26.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Bob Boldrick Theater inside the Community Center, located at 851 E. William St.
A central focus of the evening will be the final budget hearing, where the board will disclose changes made to the tentative budget before adopting a resolution to approve the final financial plan. No information as to what those changes are were noted.
Following the budget vote, trustees are also slated to discuss and potentially approve a revised Capital Improvement Plan for the district covering fiscal years 2027 through 2031. No information as to what has been revised within it were included.
The board will also take time to recognize the community by presenting the 2025-2026 Distinguished Student Awards for all schools within the district, including Carson Montessori Charter School. Additionally, trustees will honor retiring educators and employees who are leaving the district after 10 or more years of service.
There are several significant upcoming dates as the academic year draws to a close. The final day of classes for Pre-K students is Thursday, May 28. The last day of school for all other students will be a minimum day on Thursday, June 4. The Carson High School and Silver Campus graduation ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, June 5, at the Carson High School football field.
Members of the public wishing to participate in the meeting can offer comments in person or virtually. In-person speakers are asked to sign in and will be limited to three minutes at the podium. Those wishing to submit virtual public comment must email their full name and statement to publiccomment@carson.k12.nv.us no later than 12:30 p.m. on the day of the meeting. While virtual comments will be entered into the official record and provided to board members, they will not be read aloud during the meeting.
