Get ready for The Greenhouse Project’s 18th annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale and festivities, taking place Saturday, May 9 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Green Central, located on Carson High School’s campus.
This Carson City family-friendly event features everything needed to begin a vegetable garden or to landscape, with an array of vegetables, perennials and annuals, as well as native plants, hardy for the local environment. Everything is grown on-site by TGP staff, AmeriCorps and CHS students using organic practices.
Vendors will be selling items suitable for gift-giving many with an emphasis on gardening, garden art and nature. Honed by Jones will be sharpening knives, so bring any that need touch ups. Other vendors include Monarch Society, Bee City, Eagle Valley Middle School’s Green Biz Kids, Jenna’s Upcycled Clothing and Goods, and Shared Roots Reno.

There will be face painting for children and adults, too, if they would like. Raffle tickets will be sold for yard art from Purple Avocado, a gardening basket from Due Sorrella/Two Sisters, and a gift basket filled with vendor offerings.
TGP’s Shopify is now active with limited plant availability for now. Warm season plants will not be available until the in-person sale, when anything remaining will be offered on Shopify beginning May 13.
Shop online at www.ccgreenhouseproject.myshopify.com. Email christin@carsoncitygreenhouse.org to arrange pick up between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The plant sale is one of two fundraisers TGP hosts each year. Every dollar goes back into the program of educating students and providing fresh produce that is distributed to our community’s food insecure.
