On Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, Guillermo Aboytes-Saavedra was sentenced in the Third Judicial District Court pursuant to a previously entered plea agreement stemming from the May 6, 2025 kidnapping and child abuse case in Fernley.

As previously reported, on May 6, 2025, Fernley deputies responded to the 200 block of Johnson Lane regarding threats made against a juvenile. Through rapid investigative response and tracking of the juvenile’s phone, deputies located Aboytes-Saavedra at a residence where three male juveniles were discovered confined in a crawl space. Two of the juveniles had sustained substantial injuries. Deputies immediately rescued the juveniles and placed Aboytes-Saavedra under arrest.

Yesterday, Aboytes-Saavedra was sentenced to three (3) consecutive terms of five (5) years to life in the Nevada Department of Corrections. As a result of the consecutive sentences, he must serve a minimum of fifteen (15) years before becoming eligible for parole consideration.

This sentence reflects the seriousness of the crimes committed against the juvenile victims and ensures long-term accountability for the defendant’s actions.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office would like to commend the outstanding work of the LCSO Northern Command Patrol Squad and the LCSO Investigations Division for their swift response, thorough investigation, and commitment to protecting vulnerable victims.
