UPDATE 8:50PM: NV Energy continues to work on outages throughout areas of Carson City, with power being restored on some of the west side of Carson Street. As of this report, there were 2,364 customers remaining without power in the capital city, 3,727 customers in Washoe County, 28 customers in Lyon County and three customers in Douglas County.

Gusty winds have knocked down trees into power lines and causing power outages Sunday night to more than 4,250 NV Energy customers in Carson City.
Many of the outages began just before 7 p.m. Carson City Fire Department has responded to multiple reports of large branches and trees in roadways, power lines down and a transformer blown. NV Energy has been alerted to the issues by the CCFD, with the utility reporting 11 outages in Carson City as of 7:15 p.m. affecting 4,253 customers.
