Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called Wednesday afternoon to a barbecue fire that began to spread and was thought to threatened a nearby structure in area of Harbin and Musser streets.

The fire was called into dispatch shortly before 2:30 p.m. Carson City firefighters arrived and determined the fire was coming from a barbecue and that it was being extinguished by people on scene.

All units responding were canceled. At the same time, dispatch received a number of medical calls in which fire and rescue responded.

Firefighters remain at the residence of a structure fire that happened earlier this afternoon on Glenbrook Circle near King Street. That fire was extinguished and the cause is under investigation.
