A motley crew of buccaneers, led by Captain Dogfish Briggins, came ashore at the Carson Mall in Carson City Saturday providing live demonstrations of pirate life on the high seas.

Visitors were treated to an on-shore camp inside the mall, complete with a tavern where the captain himself spun yarns for visitors.

The reenactor encampment also featured a stockade and accoutrement displays, including period cutlery and black powder weaponry, clothing, tools, and other objects of the era.

The pirate parrot, Tova, was also present interacting with visitors.
