UPDATE: 10:30AM: An adult male driving a silver Toyota Highlander was killed in a crash Monday evening at Highway 50 East and Deer Road Road, according to NHP. The victim’s name has not been released. The other vehicle involved was a tow truck. The driver of the tow truck wasn’t injured. NHP is investigating. UPDATE 6AM: Highway 50 East reopened early Tuesday morning after being closed for several hours. Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong reports one fatality in the rollover Monday night on Highway 50 East and Deer Run. The victim was reportedly ejected in the crash, which involved the victim vehicle and one other vehicle. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff’s deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called Monday evening to a vehicle rollover with injuries on Highway 50 East and Deer Run.

The crash was reported at around 7:30 p.m. First responders on scene are reporting that at least one person was ejected from a vehicle. It is unknown at this time how many vehicles are involved.

Highway 50 East at the intersection has been shut down in both directions, with traffic being diverted to Arrowhead.
