A Carson City man has been identified as the victim in a Feb. 18 fatal crash in Washoe County near the intersection of Mount Rose Highway and Wedge Parkway.
The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner identified Perry L. Murrell, 63, of Carson City, who died at the scene of the crash that happened at around 6 a.m., Feb. 18. Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol is handling the law enforcement investigation.
According a NHP news release, troopers responded at 6:10 a.m., to State Route 431, Mount Rose Highway and Wedge Parkway in Washoe County.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2010 Honda Accord, driven by Murrell, was traveling westbound on SR431, west of Wedge Parkway in the number two travel lane. A 2014 Infiniti QX80 was traveling eastbound on SR431, west of Wedge Parkway in the number three travel lane, the release states. The driver of the 2010 Honda Accord for an undetermined reason crossed the centerline of SR431 entering the eastbound travel lanes. The Honda Accord and Infiniti QX80 crashed.
Murrell was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel. Suspected minor injuries were sustained by the adult driver of the other vehicle.
The Nevada Highway Patrol Region Two, Northern Command, Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating this crash.
