by Tahoe Rim Trails Endurance Run
Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs will be hosting a 50k mostly the same course as the scheduled 50K. Registration will open February 1, 2025 at 12:00 AM PT. Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance 50K & 14 Mile Runs – July 19, 2025
The difference will be the loop around Marlette Peak. The start will be the same—from the John L Harvey Baseball Stadium at Western Nevada College, up Ash Canyon Road to Snow Valley Peak, then north on the Tahoe Rim Trail to the Laxalt road intersection, and jump onto the Capital 2 Tahoe Trail to the Waterfall aid station and back down Ash Canyon trail to the baseball stadium for a big fun finish line party at the famous Ultra Lounge.
Mileage should come in very close to 30 miles. There will be two aid stations with only water and EFS electrolyte drink, and two full service aid stations approximately at mile 8 and mile 16 (Hobart 2.0 AS) and mile 23 Waterfall Aid Station. Then a seven mile push to the finish.
We will also be offering a shorter out-n-back 14 mile race from the baseball stadium up the Ash to Kings Trail to the Waterfall Aid Station and back to the finish line Ultra Lounge. A first for TRTER!

Important note to consider on the 50K! Locations for the two main aid stations are in very remote, very difficult terrain to get to. There can be no drops at all! If you feel the big 4200 ft climb at the start is going to be a huge challenge for you, I highly recommend doing the 14 mile option this year. The cutoff will be 10 hours for an official finish. We will also have a 2 hour cutoff at the Kick Ash Aid Station at 3.5 miles. You will be turned around if not there by then.
Because this is a one-off year due to the road closures, the goal for this year’s race is to offer a great course and have a great time at the finish line Ultra Lounge. Because we have such loyal volunteers and aid station captains that on a normal TRTER weekend, they do not have the privilege of enjoying the finish line and Ultra Lounge. As race director my intention is to have them be able to shut down their aid stations in reasonable time and be able to come down to the finish and enjoy themselves as well. So please respect the 10 hour cutoff. Come join the fun!
