Carson High School Speech and Debate had another amazing tournament at North Valleys High School this past weekend on January 17th and 18th. Students took many top rankings; below are the placements from the tournament.

The team will compete in the 6th league tournament of the season at Spring Creek High School in February. The team will then move on to the Districts (National Qualifying) tournament in March.

On January 20th, juniors Captain Kyle Allen, Kaden Sa, and Nasia Perkins participated in the Carson City Lions Club Student Speaker Contest. Kyle Allen won by discussing the topic “How does technology influence the ability for individuals to engage in interpersonal communication?” and will move on to the Zone level competition. It will be hosted at the Dayton Valley Community Center on February 12th, 2025 at 5:30pm.

Finally, the team wants to remind the community about their second Panther, Painting, Pizza, and Punch of the season. This is a fundraiser to help support the team with their league, state, and national tournaments. The event will be held at Pioneer High School on January 30th, 2025. Doors open at 5:30 and the class starts promptly at 6pm. The class is $20 per adult and $15 per student with a student body card (12+). Pizza and drink included. Sign up using the link below.
