A two-year-old girl was found unresponsive at a Manzanita Terrace home Friday and was pronounced dead at the hospital after Carson City sheriff’s deputies and paramedics were called to a north Carson City residence for a report the child had fallen, said Sheriff Ken Furlong.

When emergency crews arrived, they found the 2-½ year old female child was being administered CPR by her care-taker. Carson City fire and paramedics treated the young girl and rushed her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Carson City sheriff’s detectives remain on scene investigating the incident at two residential locations in North Carson City, the second location on Yukon Court. No arrests have been made, however the incident is being investigated as a suspicious death, said Furlong. An autopsy is anticipated to take place over the weekend.

Furlong did not have any additional information.
