A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment and domestic battery after officers were called to an apartment complex, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Darian Robert Goldman was arrested at 6:47 p.m. in the 400 block of South Saliman. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area for a report of a domestic battery. When officers arrived they could hear a female screaming “let me go, get off of me,” the arrest report states.

A deputy knocked on the door and could hear the screaming coming from inside an apartment. Goldman answered the door, was sweating, out of breath, appeared nervous and told the officer that nobody was yelling inside the apartment.

He asked officers if they could talk outside the apartment. Officers could smell an odor of marijuana coming from the apartment. Goldman said he was a medical marijuana patient and again asked if he and the officers could talk outside the apartment.

A deputy then observed a female walk up to the door standing behind the man holding a purse. The officer asked the woman if she was OK. Goldman attempted to close the door and he told her to stay inside, the arrest report states.

The officer observed the woman had fresh red marks on her neck. The officer asked the woman to step outside to speak. Goldman told the officer “no, she can stay inside. She’s fine,” the arrest report states. Goldman then attempted to close the apartment door again with the woman inside.

The officer asked the man to speak with a deputy while he had the female victim come outside to speak. The officer asked her if she was hurt and if she wanted to call paramedics to check out her injuries.

The woman told the officer, “I just want to go home,” the arrest report states. The officer asked where she lived. The woman said Dayton. The officer asked her how she was going to get home and the woman said she would walk. The officer asked the woman what happened inside the apartment. The woman told the officer it was a misunderstanding and she and Goldman began to argue.

While the officer spoke with the victim, the man began to get emotional and began to yell and scream, acting erratically and began to cry. Officers photographed the woman’s injuries. As he was being put into the patrol vehicle, the man told deputies “I’m a good good kid. I just see red when I get angry,” the arrest report states. He was arrested on suspicion of felony kidnapping, gross misdemeanor false imprisonment and misdemeanor domestic battery.
